![]() With MainStage 2, my MacBook Pro is now a virtual bank of guitar amps and synthesizers that I can quickly set up and tear down at a live gig. This alone is a huge advantage that Apple has over the competition but it doesn’t stop there. For the first piece I created in Logic Pro 9, I used my keyboard as a real instrument however, when I plug it in as a MIDI controller through USB, I have at my disposal an extensive library of sounds and effects built right into the software. One of the most mind-blowing features of the new Logic Studio is its vast library of instruments and loops-40 GB, give or take. When beginning a new project, you even have the option of using a template wizard to get the jumpstart you need. This was fairly easy because of the new streamlined workflow and the fact that all of the essential editing and mixing tools are right in front of you-not hidden three submenus deep. Without any manual or tutorial, I jumped right in with my Korg M3 keyboard and recorded my first piece. ![]() Now, after a few years spent in Soundtrack Pro (via Final Cut Studio) and GarageBand, Logic Pro 9 is a snap. I’d given up on previous versions of Logic because they were too complex and foreign. I’m producing podcast themes or “quickie” music beds, however, so I usually revert back to the simplicity of GarageBand. Next is the addition of MainStage and all of Apple’s Jam Packs.Īs a self-taught audio-recording engineer, I’ve used the standards, such as Pro Tools, Cubase, and Ableton Live. The new Logic Studio consists of Logic Pro 9, MainStage 2, and Soundtrack Pro 3 and the first thing noticeably different from previous versions of Logic Pro is the redesign of the interface and ease of use. So when it comes to music-creation software, I’d consider myself “amateur to semi-pro,” and I believe it’s folks like me that Apple had in mind with the latest update of Logic Pro, now called Logic Studio. ![]() But some may not be aware that for much of my life, I’ve been a musician-behind the instruments, not at the control boards and mixers. Most people who know me think of me as a video guy. COMPLETE SET OF PROFESSIONAL MUSIC APPLICATIONS

Some may believe that Epic Games Store app users are exaggerating the issue, but unfortunately, there's notable evidence to the contrary. Another says "20 seconds? That's not even a big number." Another comment says several minutes to load into the launcher is only half the problem, as it takes that much or more to then load into the EGS game library section of the app. RELATED: Epic Games Store Update Adds New FeaturesĪ top comment in the 20-second loading time thread says that every time they open the Epic Games Store launcher, it takes 3-4 minutes to fully load. But this trait is linked to coat color (as in fiery red) and not to the tabby pattern. A non-religious version suggests that the M is a set of frown lines, the result of a cat staring at a mousehole in concentration, waiting for a mouse to emerge. In gratitude, the Virgin Mary marked the cat’s face with the first letter of her name. Christians believe that when newborn baby Jesus wouldn’t stop crying, a cat climbed into the manger and started to purr, sending him off to sleep. It is said that the M marking on the forehead of the tabby cat was created when he rested his hand on the brow of his favorite cat. The prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was an acknowledged cat lover. This is where legend pushes genetics aside with these intriguing notions as to how these markings came about. Ionized salts are abundantly found within our bodies and serve the chief primary function of maintaining specific concentration and charge balances across cell membranes. Caffeine aids in improving cognition and alertness, antagonizing adenosine receptors, inhibiting phosphodiesterase (PDE), increasing epinephrine/norepinephrine/dopamine release, and enhancing intracellular sodium/potassium pump activity. Its effects are as highly acute and pronounced as they are vast. Obviously, caffeine is a widely used and highly efficient aerobic and anaerobic performance stimulant. ![]() Another larger study concluded betaine aided in high intensity anaerobic training, allowing individuals to achieve more squat repetitions at 75% of their 1-RM with more repetitions achieved at =90% peak power(4). Human performance studies involving betaine found it increases power and force performance measures amongst trained individuals and was elucidated through these exercise protocols: bench press throw, bench press force, squat force, and vertical jump power(3). Intuitively, this stacks nicely with nitrates as they synergistically work through different modalities to achieve the same endurance effect.īetaine, or trimethylglycine, is an interesting compound found in beetroot juice as it serves as an osmolyte (protecting cells against dehydration), an antioxidant, and a methyl group donor serving to lower homocysteine levels. Carnosine, which supplemental beta alanine enhances the muscular concentration of, helps stabilize muscular pH levels by buffering the hydrogen ions produced through intense exercise. This non-proteinogenic amino acid is a constituent of muscle-carnosine (beta-alanine-l-histidine), however, myocarnosine content has been shown to be significantly increased through beta alanine supplementation alone(2). This increase in mitochondrial efficiency (P/O ratio) is due to the reduced cost of ATP (muscular currency) to produce muscular force. Astonishingly, the increased work comes without an accompanying increase in blood-lactate, meaning your muscles actually become more energetically efficient. Nitrates have been shown to be a powerful aerobic and anaerobic ergogenic aid by reducing the oxygen cost of exercise, translating into lower perceived exertion and/or a greater maximal workload capacity (1). Inorganic nitrates found in beets, spinach, etc…increase nitric oxide through a novel biological pathway, nitrate>nitrite>nitric oxide. ![]() Even after having its head cut off, a cockroach can still live for weeks.
